Accomplishments

Ok this will be a tough one for some, but its time to take a glance backward and put it in perspective. Whether you've been doing crossfit for a year or two or even for three months you will see the changes. You will have months where you make constant gains and then months where you see little to no change. I think if we look back and actually view how far we have come it puts it into perspective. I challenge you here to do two things.
Write a small post listing how far you've come since you started crossfit. I think the results will amaze you when you start to put it down. Second, set a goal, it doesn't have to be huge, just something to work on for the next 3-6 months or a year. Ive seen amazing changes in attitudes, in appearance and in confidence among my small group and know you all have as well. This isn't for bragging, its just so that you can see the difference it makes to others and so you yourself can see the benefits of all the increased exercise and pain at 6am.
Its all worth it.

So here goes.
Quite simply.
Mike- A year ago, body weight 256, current body weight 220, pullups 1, current pullups 21, couldn't run a mile if a lion was chasing me, now I can run a 5k straight,
Goal- run a 5k race, and 50 double unders

Post your accomplishments.

I started Crossfit in August--In September when we did 3 reps of front squats I finished the 5th round at 105 lbs--In November I did the 5th round of 5 reps at 110 lbs--This week I did 135 lbs at the 5th round (3 reps).
Goal: 3 pull-ups (no bands)

It will be two years this summer when I started Crossfit. When I started working out I weighed, let's just say, a lot. But today I have lost 70 pounds somedays it's 75 depending on the day or the week I have had..... I still have a long way to go, but my goal is 100 pounds total off by my birthday, September 3. Slow and steady has been my approach, but now I can do so much more, I want to push it and just get the rest off. When I started I couldn't run the driveway down and back, now I can do it several times with no stopping, I can say I did all three events in the Maine's Fittest Games- winning the lifting one, I'm 13th in the world (for my age group!)at the World Indoor Rowing Championships and I did the men's RX deadlifting during this mornings workout. I've accomplished a great deal in two years, but not only physically, but mentally. I take on things with a can do attitude, and generally get it done. I've been inspiring many people to get in shape, and I couldn't ask for gaining such wonderful friends. Heck, I even do FB now.
Crossfit has changed my life. I've learned to take time to take care of me so I can be a better mom, wife and friend.

Goals: I have a bunch, but here are a few -
-6 or more box jumps without falling or smashing my knees
-1 real pullup with no bands
-I guess try to run a 5K
-30 more pounds off
-300 pound deadlift (My PR is currently 275)
-to look and bench like Jess!

I have been doing Crossfit for about 1 1/2 years. I have accomplished pullups, which was one of the things I really wanted to do. I now want to learn how to do butterfly pullups as I understand it's less stress on the shoulder. A "bad" shoulder is another thing I've accomplished since doing Crossfit. I haven't lost much weight, but I have toned and I feel a lot stronger. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I'd be lifting weights.

There are certain exercises, lifts at higher weights that I'd like to accomplish, but right now what I really want to concentrate on is accepting my strengths and not being so hard on myself when I don't perform as well as I'd like. I seem to have leveled off.... my cardio isn't getting any better, and my weight limits aren't increasing at this point. Just gotta keep moving forward.

I do have more confidence and "yes" I love Crossfit! I've also met some awesome people that I wouldn't know if it weren't for working out in the pit.
